If you thought that science was certain - well, that is just an error on your part.
Enviroscience performed soil remediation oversight, including a Community Air Monitoring Program, asbestos work area project management, material manifest and weighing, and reporting/coordination with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Enviroscience performed mold investigation services throughout the first floor of the Hauppauge High School, a condition that developed from unseasonably elevated relative humidity during the late Summer, 2018. Enviroscience performed a Mold Assessment, prepared a Mold Remediation Work Plan and provided remediation management services, including final clearance sampling.
Enviroscience conducted a comprehensive assessment of potential chemical and biological hazards within the Frank P. Long Intermediate School to address concerns of administration, staff, parents and students within the South Country School District concerning environmental exposures from the nearby Brookhaven Landfill.
Enviroscience performed lead in drinking water sampling for many of the county school districts in NY. New York State Laws and regulations require all public school districts and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) to test drinking water for lead contamination, and to take action if lead exceeds the actionable threshold of 15 micrograms per liter. The regulation required school districts and BOCES to perform lead testing in 2016, 2020 and at least every five years thereafter or at an earlier time as determined by the Commissioner of Health.
Our test results and other required information is reported to the NYS DOH and NYS Education Department, schools must complete the School Lead in Drinking Water Reporting form using the NYSDOH’s electronic reporting system called HERDS.
We work along with these departments and the schools to help identify
and address potential sources of contamination and provide solutions to
improve their water quality back to the standards of compliance.
Enviroscience performed the initial soil sampling for the replacement of the school's grass field with a turf field. Arsenic was found to be present in the sampling. We also collected the secondary grid sampling to delineate the extent of arsenic contamination in the soil. We then managed the removal and tracked the disposal of the contaminated soil for the school district.
